Pixel This was developed for the Glasgow Science Centre as part of a Careers Scotland initiative to encourage young people (S1 to S4 pupils) to follow careers into science, design and technology.
The show introduces emerging interactive and visual technologies from Scotland and beyond and emphasises how science and technology is all around and how it impacts on our daily lives.
During the show, images and video are captured and manipulated using specially commissioned software to highlight how still and moving images can be used (and misused) and how these technologies are being incorporated into a number of everyday items such as the mobile phone. The video and sound clips captured are then pieced together and 'mixed' live during the finale of the show using vision mixers and VJ (video jockeying) software to produce a unique music video, that is recorded onto DVD and given to the schools taking part.
