The Magic of Light show is a fun and family orientated show produced for the Glasgow Science Centre.
We decided to base the show around a series of magic tricks to help introduce some of the complex ideas linked to light and the electromagnetic spectrum. The tricks included disappearing and reappearing giant Y-fronts, invisible heat rays and the amazing severed head (pictured).
The invisible heat rays experiment (below) gives you a good idea of the demonstrations we developed for the show. This experiment shows how infrared light can be reflected and focused onto a point just like visible light.
(If you can't see the movie you need the quicktime player)
We researched and scripted the show, provided plans for the props (which were manufactured in house by the Glasgow Science Centre), trained the staff and scripted/animated the multimedia. Steve Allman premiered the show in April 2005.
